Greetings from the Ice Queen who dare not leave her castle lest she melt.

However, the weather has not interfered with the excitement caused by the visit to Canada of The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge aka William and Kate. On Thursday The Royals stepped on to the red carpet and the visit began. To some of the very young it must seem like a fairy tale seeing, in person, a real prince with his lovely lady. I'm sure some of them wished themselves in Kate's shoes.

Yesterday, the Royal Couple were with us in Ontario for the day of our big celebration - Canada Day - which is celebrated coast to coast but with a lot of the action and entertainment in Ottawa.
Before the day arrived thousands had gathered for all night vigils at Parliament Hill carrying enough supplies and provisions to last them until the very last firework fizzled out on Friday night.
Next stop for William and Kate is Quebec. Lovingly called La Belle Province by the Quebecers (and other names by the rest of us).

I hope the couple have brushed up on their French as they will find that everything in Quebec is written in French - road routes, street names, store names and if they do a walk-about they will find many in the crowd whose only language is Quebecois. They could be forgiven for thinking they had left the Commonwealth and somehow found themselves in France.

I'm sure that in the UK you will get full coverage of the Royal Visit on your televisions. You will see the great Canadian welcome they will be given and I'm sure you will feel the enthusiasm coming right into your living rooms.

And now it is time for me to settle down and 'get on with it.'

According to normal practice, for the everyday running of MM, I shall follow crofter’s rule on word length, in that each of my pre-selected link words contains at least four letters and at most eight letters. Stray outside this range and you will be wasting one of your attempts!

Each of the selected link words may go in front of or behind my challenge word! The competition will officially close on Sunday Evening at 7.00pm, when gen2 will declare my pre-selected words and then apply the same rules for awarding points that have been applied during all MM Link Games in the past. My set of four words to have their links predicted should appear below at 9.00am.
Well gen2 couldn't be 'bought' ...never mind!

Canada or French might be too obvious...hmm...Fairy tales?
