baby bottle feeds
I am apealing to older Mums and grans out there for some advice, why is it now a bad idea to make up a couple of feeds to keep in the fridge for later, also for feeds to be kept for more than two hours eg at night to be warmed when the baby wants it ? i used to take a feed to bed with me along with a flask of hot water so that if the baby woke the feed could be ready in a minute or two, my older grandchildren had bottle warmers and if we took a baby out for the day we took several made up and asked for a jug of hot water in a cafe to warm them, all my children thrived on this way of doing it also all my older grandchildren, but now the younger one is msde to wait for ages for his feed as it has to cool down from boiling, even with iced water it takes ages, poor little soul gets so upset each time.

when my daughter had my grandson, we were advised to make all feeds afresh and NEVER stock them!
i breatsfed, so i asked my mum all this, and she said my dad used to make a days worth at a time for her, and keep them in the fridge!
obviously, there needs to be a happy medium, but taking one up to bed would be fine in my book!

I was also told these new guidelines but if it was not convenient I chose to ignore them and my baby never came to any harm over it. Nor did his sister who is now 7. I made all of hers the night before, stored them in the fridge and warmed up when needed. With my second I followed 'the rules' when possible but on a night I would take to bed 2 or 3 bottles that had been previously made up and cooled in fridge and store in a cool bag. Then in the middle of the night all that needed to be done was warm them in the warmer, simple! I would do what you want to do and remember that guidelines are just that - there to guide you its not the law.
im 26, i used to make madams feeds up in advance kept them in the fridge till needed, then nuked them in the microwave. When out i took a flask of warm water and the powder in the bottles and made as needed.
