The Club is now Open
Welcome once more to one and all.
I hope that all members have recovered from the festive festivities and that the stocks of Alkaseltzer have been replenished.
No doubt an array of nibbles and tailcocks will arrive soon (festive leftovers, perhaps) along with an explanation for the spaces in the cellar...
Any unwanted Xmas presents will be welcome for tonight's raffle.
So far we have......nothing...

The Lie-In King cat is a frisky cat
full of waggery and mischief.
Downstairs he eats his beef pies daintily
but upstairs it runs from one end
of the house to the other, plays
AB computer games, knocks over
The Lady's polar bear, plays the piano, sharpens
its claws for a go on a TTFN guitar.
It disrespects the Moonie furniture
and makes this Castle its own.
Downstairs he’s a Butler cat,
who lies stretched out in front
of the fire, or dozes on Mamya’s
sleeping head. He’s learned not to
jump on Boxtops' window sill, and the
booze cupboard doors are shut tight.
He’s a darling and a reincarnation
of a cat from another life, but
he’s had to learn fast to be old,
to behave like a clapped-out cat.
The upstairs/downstairs Lie-In King cat likes
to sleep in the Castle hall at the top
of the stairs, the hot spot where
Mr Butler can keep one eye on upstairs
and a weather eye out for the
llamas outside door, for strokes and
cuddles or sharp words and Lady's slaps.
He knows, in both his selves,
that there’s another life somewhere,
where he doesn’t have a name,
out through the catflap and into
the real world of other AB cats, and ratters,
raccoons, trolls, Jemisa foxes, birds, and McMice,
where the wind blows and the seadogg grass
feels cold and clean to his paws,
the air is full of a Carakeel smells
and somewhere, waiting round Nungate's
corner, if only they wouldn’t keep
calling him back by his two names,
Lie-in King is the way back home.

I will say my goodbyes to you all - thanks again to Mr Buttle - a retainer of some repute, to Mamyalynne, whose tailcocks are a hoot. To m'ilady and his ludship - I wish them good health all year and to the other club members including Alex, I hold so dear ♥
