Which is the largest state in America by land area? I would say Alaska - but is Alaska strictly IN America?

Texas was the largest state in the U.S. from 1845 to 1959 when Alaska became the largest state in the U.S. as far as land mass is concerned.

Also Dinky - Alaska definitely seems to be right. Because Alaska is located quite some distance from America I thought it might be a trick question.

Alaska is an upper state in this great country. But it's not connected to the U.S.. It's in the upper corner of Canada.
