Hello, good evening and welcome to all our members.
(Hasn't David Frost been putting himself about on TV lately ?)
Do draw up to the fire and get cosy for tonight's club.
After the great success of the talk 'Knitting patterns through the ages', the Committee tried to engage the same speaker to give the companion talk 'Crotchet patterns I have loved ' but sadly, she said that she was tied up. So, unless any members feel they can step into the breach, I am afraid we will have to forgo our talk tonight.
For the raffle so far I have
A bottle of Sanatogen
Six oranges
Two tubes of Polo mints
and three knitting needles sizes 10, 8 and 7.
It will, no doubt, PB, make excellent glacon for her Maj's Gin & Dubonnet when she drifts down the Thames with her orchestra, citizens of the realm at the ready on terra firma or Viking ships, fireworks ablazing...
Just a flying visit tonight - suffering from 6-nations induced insobriety; how will I cope with Twickers next week?
Reminder:
Lord Finchley tried to mend the Electric Light
Himself. It struck him dead: And serve him right!
It is the business of the wealthy man
To give employment to the artisan.
No tailcock tonight, thanks L-i-K, nor any need to mind my coat.
