I was going to put this answer in this morning when i saw Question but couldn't justify this answer, I looked everywhere, googled and could not find any reference to these colours been worn by pearly's.Maybe I wasn't looking in the right places.
I did the same as fredkins and could not reach any conclusion. When you look at pictures of them all you can see are black suits and pearly buttons, none of which you can call colours. I reckon the only words that will fit are silver and gold, as shooty says but I can't justify it in any way.
Thank you all for your comments. I am completely baffled by this question, I always thought the colours were black and pearl (or white) but of course these are not fitted to the number of letters required. Silver and Gold certainly fit the number of letters but cannot find any mention of these 'colours' in any readings about the Pearly Kings and Queens. Thank you all for your interest.
Sorry for not replying Mamya, have only just seen this pop back up. The answer is, I don't have any reference. I always thought that pearly kings and queens used Gold and Silver buttons on thier attire. I apologise if I have given an incorrect answer.
Yes, just had a google. I have seen 'RED' used for the George's cross on some outfits, but as you say, pearl is the main. As I said, sorry for my mis-leading answer.
Thank you for all input, yes the likes of the wonderful George Major will always 'soup up' their costumes, but I was presuming the question referred to the traditional day to day garb of the Pearlies. Must be right I guess - a written historical reference is always good though.
