The last of the great crooners (Can't Take Me Eyes Off You is one of the greatest lounge songs ever).
Great Singer.

Passed my driving test, then met the girlfriend went on to watch Breakfast At Tiffany's Moon River always brings back happy memories, nice man good singer R.I.P Andy
forgot to say girlfriend now OH
I'd forgotten - he also sung 'Music To Watch Girls By'.

If you've not heard this track, I strongly urge you to download it. Just listening to it will make you 20% cooler than you were before.

I think I'll Spotify it now.
Is this one of those rare occasions , when all on AB, are in agreement ?
I remember his tv shows from my childhood - i fancied his french-canadian missus - but he also seemed very 'cool' and with that silky, beautifully toned voice.

I would put him up there with Sinatra and Matt Munro
what do you think aog?

Yes you could have something there, others being Frankie Laine, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole, all sadly gone.

But hey thanks to technology, we can still hear their crystal tones till the end of time.

Yes sad really that it takes the death of a crooner to bring us together.
one of the last greats
but he never sang moon river in the film,Audrey Hepburn sang that and the song was a top hit in the uk for Danny Williams
'Music To Watch Girls By' has always been one of my favourites .

I know it's a subjective thing - however i think all of his songs were great .

Would you agree ?
<Frankie Laine, Dean Martin, Nat King Cole>

Sadly don't know much about Laine other than 'High Noon' but it occurs to me that all those named here have a common attribute which one could argue extends to the best singers of any age:

as soon as you hear them you know exactly who it is
all great to listen to - and distinctive
Moon River ... Breakfast At Tiffany's ... most memorable opening to ANY movie EVER !

Even for that moment alone, AW was one of the greats.
I bet he'll be topping again , some charts out there , soon
