I 'm sure one of you clever people out there can at least put me on the right road to solving this question .I have trawled every avenue I can think of .The answer is something which happened for the first time on June 1st 1951 .The clue is P B P D . I am keeping my fingers crossed in the hope you can help .

I know others have posted the identical question so the details here must be the same as on the quiz sheet but, like someone else, the only answer I can get is if the year is 1957

After many hours pondering, researching, etc., I came up with Paul Brickhill Published Dambusters; (No way! But it was 1951) I also thought Penguin Books, and Baden Powell (but that's hyphenated). The Korean War was in progress, and 1951 was The Festival of Britain (Dome of Discovery, Skylon, etc.) Perhaps this note will help with the lateral thinking.

The year is probably wrong I agree that the answer is June 1st 1957. This is the second question in this quiz with the wrong year !!

PB could be Premium Bonds (no that was 1st June 1957), Penguin Books... or Paddington Bear?
