Wild West Town

Does anyone else's home town turn into the Wild West tonight? We call it Black Eyed Friday as all the builders and associated trades finish work early and head for the pub. Some of the fights are pretty spectacular. The following day is always funny as the supermarkets are full of irate looking women dragging their hungover husbands around the aisles, with the men stopping occasionally to compare their cuts and bruises.

It can get pretty wild in Kendal. We too call it Blackeyed Friday.

Im not sure our sleepy little village will even notice, Mind you! I did hear a police/ambulance/fire engine siren in the distance a few months back, just passing us by to wake us up I do believe.

lets just say, going out in town is not something i'll be doing tonight. a couple of mates are bouncers and they hate this time of year, you get loads of people going for drinks after works, having too much too quickly and not eating then causing hassle.

its not so much the tradesmen as the office workers esp the "ladies"....

when I lived in Sharjah U.A.E in the eighties the infamous Nell Gwynne Pub was just like the wild wild west with oilman instead of cowboys.
