110d Is it partially or partiality? Could be Bias
81a- could be either. Typical DR. I think overrun is more likely
bias#overrun

sorry it's partiality

thanks for all your help = always appreciated
overran, past tense of overrun
Past tense could also be overrun, though

(Had been / was) invaded= (had been / was) overrrun
Yes, but overrun can also be a past participle

The DR specialises in these ambiguous clues/answers

Will sibton say I'm being argumentative again?
Don't know about sibton, but I think you are....
Me too!!
sat 6th oct the same clue invaded, when I phoned the office, the answer they were looking for then, was overrun, so whether it's going to be the same this time , who knows, til we get confirmation Monday, if they are available.
Oh, no I'm not....(lol)
So are you saying it has to be OVERRAN or do we agree it could be either
A sloppy clue, then, to my mind.
I agree Katburd the last time this clue's answer was overrun!
Geeze Oh!!
if it's invaded, past tense, then it'll be overran - overrun is present tense.
Oh yes you are ;o(

I have read katburds post, my choice would be RAN, based on invadED
The setter's used this clue many times in the past and the answer's always been overrUn - that's what I'm going with.
Well I don't want to disappoint you baldric so I'll mention that my dictionary says overrun is the past participle of overrun

" [with object] spread over or occupy (a place) in large numbers:
the Mediterranean has been overrun by tourists"
