8 Canterbury
Oops, sorry Mamya

9, LEICESTER
10 Looks wrong as Margaret Rutherford appears to be the first to play Marple in film and she was born in Balham.

Beg pardon ....

Clue

Home of the CO-Op
Perhaps Maryport in the Lake District for 24
By elimination, 10 must be in Durham.
Gracie Fields played Miss Marple on American TV in 1956 so Rochdale perhaps.
Sadly, Rochdale isn't in Durham, but this supports what slaney has suggested.

Nope it isn't, but maybe Durham is not correct.

Thank you so much, Calibax, Mamya, Baldric, Slaney & Tommo for your help. It is true that the Co Durham clue is the only one left over, but as far as I know no Miss Marple actress has been born in that county. Mamya, did your tip re the Co-op refer to this Marple one (you didn't add the clue no)?

I have looked up the Co-op clue of Mamya's, which was Rochdale, birthplace of Gracie Fields, so that must be the answer for no 10. Trouble is, I have already answered another clue with a Lancs town (there is supposed to be only one). The clue is: 17. British explorer Sir Henry Morton (1841-1904) (7 letters), for which I have put Stanley in Lancs. Does anyone know if there is another Stanley in the UK, hopefully in Durham?
Sorry mamya - didn't see your good clue above.

JandyAF, there is a Stanley in Durham..
