The Monopoly game board consists of forty spaces containing twenty-eight properties (twenty-two colored streets, four railway stations and two utilities), three Chance spaces, three Community Chest spaces, a Luxury Tax space, an Income Tax space, and the four corner squares: GO, (In) Jail/Just Visiting, Free Parking, and Go to Jail.[wm 1]
Does the Jail not count?
Don't think so as you cannot purchase it.
What was the result? Did Mark beat the team?
Yes, with 59 seconds left on the clock.
That's an understatement DSJ
Thanks for that. He rarely gets beaten!

The Jail is a property so 29 should have been the answer. Whether you can purchase it or not , it is still a property
I disagree. The jail is a building, but seeing as it's not going to be for sale probably ever you can hardly class it as a property.
I disagree too, Fleet Street, Mayfair and the Old Kent Road are hardly 'propertys' outside of the rules of Monopoly.
According to the rules of the game, a property is a space for which there is a title deed and the jail doesn't have one of those.
Did you not read my link , fron The World of Monopoly ?

//No matter where in the world, the official MONOPOLY board has 28 properties including 4 Stations, 2 Utilities, 3 COMMUNITY CHEST, 3 Chance, Super Tax, Income Tax, Go To Jail, In Jail/Just Visiting, Free Parking and Go.//
Cannot remake the rules just for a quiz show.
