Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Seemingly it was renamed Colin to save people asking for pollack and being embarrassed.

It was a marketing ploy by a supermarket to get more people to eat Pollock as opposed to cod etc.

Thanks all, I quiz quite a lot but have not heard that one. Mind you its now in my book of questions for when I next compile one.

I've been sea fishing as a hobby for fifty years and never heard it referred to as a colin in the fishing community. I did hear though that one of the supermarkets' I think it was Sainsburies had started calling it Colin, which is what the French call hake to make it more acceptable to the customers.

That's just another reason to confuse us all about which fish we are eating now,and make it sound more palateable,what next!!!

I read in a newspaper not so long ago some disreputable chip shops sell substitutes to cod anyway and most people are none the wiser.

No giveup they haven't gone that far yet,they are so CUTE aren't they and also quite comical to watch.Can you imagine asking or telling a child we are having Colin for tea tonight,I think they would be horrified and think they were eating a pet.

There's nothing wrong with pollack, and for years if chippies just advertised fish & chips as opposed to specifying a type of fish, nine times out of ten it would ling which apart from having bigger flakes then cod is virtually indistinguishable.

My fathers hobby was sea fishing so we ate whatever he caught (mind you he also caught rabbits).But we had so much as children that still don't have it often now.I love scallops and crab and lobster.

in France, it is known as colin ( pronounced colAIN, not colEEN )
