On my request on April 16th I specifically asked for clues. However my apologies to all those I have offended,I only go on when I have exhausted my supply of books.I also have to post this on Monday as I shall be away.My sincere thanks to all who have helped me in the past.
Cate, you have not offended anybody. It's just that, when I (and loads of others) spend hours cross-referencing dictionaries and thesauri to find answers, only to see them printed out all over the internet, we , quite rightly feel annoyed. Now, you don't HAVE to complete the quiz. Send in what answers you have and nobody will complain. Have a good holiday.
Not to worry,Cat..gory.Must admit I give answers sometimes instead of clues, esp if it's a local quiz. Not your fault if some ABers do this. At least you're sending for the quizzes.Anyway, hope you have a lovely holiday.
Don't take exception, cate - some people do ask a lot of questions, I can see how it would annoy some, but many of us like to try to help (especially if we're not actually submitting that quiz ourselves).
Thats one of the things that gets me boxtops people are happy to give answers to nearly all of a quiz and yet they dont support the charity with entry money and then a quiz like this nearly all of it is asked so next time I wont pay for it either Maybe its something to think about
Just as a point of interest, I'm sure it wont make a jot of difference but, I have already had 2 persons send in their answer sheets, and both are no longer going to partcipate any more due mainly to so many questions being asked and answered despite the request for clues only. Thats a lot of money our charity will miss over the years.
However as I will be reminded that is what this site is all about, its just such a shame that poeple working hard on it without help, can see others givng up weeks before the closing date and answers being given so far ahead.
Never mind I suppose we should be grateful for the money we do raise and not worry about anything else.
Hi,quizmouse,it's a pity that some aren't going to buy the quizzes again.I'll still be buying the ones I support no matter what. It's not as if the prizes were huge-to me it's just a piece of mental exercise and if it's helping a charity-good.I actually send for quite a few quizzes-some I finish and return-some I finish and forget to return-must get better organised-and some I can't finish!
Rest assured you will not lose me as a regular quizzer Quizmouse, the only ones I have ever stopped doing are those who mark answers incorrectly and those where you need to be a mind reader, ie various possible correct answers would fit.
Got a marked quiz back today with one wrong (fair enough) but most months it says 'No winner' this time, makes me smile but still I plough on.
