Just been reading about a new sitcom starting on Monday on ITV. To quote the blurb:
"Vicious, a brand new studio sitcom that stars respected luminaries of British stage and screen, Ian McKellen and Derek Jacobi who will be joined by Frances de la Tour in this unashamedly wicked new comedy."
Trio of brilliant actors who are so luminary that they don't really need to be in a dodgy badly scripted sitcom, so hopefully the script will be up to scratch. If not I might just cry :(
No, absolutely not. I do hope the script is worthy of the great actors in the cast. It's just that I've seen in the past, programmes trailed using what turned out to be the 2 or 3 best lines, and the rest of the script was not very funny.
you should have put "i hope the lines i've seen are NOT the best ...." to make that meaning.
If that's what you meant, i hope so too because the lines i've seen are not funny
Sorry it's probably me being thick but you posted 'I just hope the lines I've seen are the best of a not so funny lot.'- which to my addled brain meant you didn't like the idea.
However if you typed this:-I just hope the lines I've seen are NOT the best of a not so funny lot.' - that would have made sense to me.
It's probably me, I'm a bit preoccupied at the moment and it's making me as stupid as a stupid thing at stupid competition. More haste, less speed. :)
