A lorry driver had his load checked before leaving the depot. He was under his permitted gross weight. On his journey he was stopped by the police and found to be over his permitted weight. Why? He had not stopped on the way and had not taken on more load. Any clues??
I did query if the loads were checked at different altitudes. I also queried was it a load of budgies or some other birds, that were flying around the lorry at the first check, but were sat on perches at the second check. But I'm told these were both incorrect answers. Help please.
Thanks for your replies - apparently the official answer was a lorry load of straw becoming heavier as it drove through a heavy rain storm, though, obviously, they did accept the answer that mac gave.
