I have spent all day idling around and watching cricket ... but have now looked at my watch and realised that :
1. I have visitors arriving tonight
2. I have a shortage in the "basic foodstuffs expected in a civilised household" department
3. Aldi will be closed before I can get there :+(((
So I have to risk a visit to a 'real' supermarket - but
1. The Tesco Extra is so enormous that I will need to tie a ball of string to the door to find my way back out again
2. Sainsburys will have everything I want - but will have cunningly hidden it all in the deepest darkest recesses of its bowels - so I will be there all fecking night
3. Morrisons is smaller and easier to navigate, but it won't have half the stuff I want and is also populated by the 'jogging bottoms, tattoos and shorts' subculture of inner city ****ntry (name redacted to protect the innocent, and dave)
Dave...wherever you go....I won't be there so nothing bad will happen.
Now....you've left it until the last minute so bite the bullet or... wait and take the visitors with you for a surprise....x
Well I take it all back (or at least the Morrisons bit).
Friendly people, nice store, got everything (even some interesting Belgian Kriek Beer - which wasn't strictly 'on the list' - but hey) and home for a cold beer in less than an hour.
Good luck Dave, if you find any ice cream wafers let me know what aisle they are in, couldn't find them today, not near the ice cream freezers. Cornets yes but not wafers. Grrrr
