Mad Over Fifties Club

Greetings to all Mad Over Fifties, the Towers are now open for tonight's meeting. Tonight, it's Liberty Hall! Down at the beach there's a barbecue and local band the Tone Deafs will be providing the music. Speaking for myself I have decided something summery and floaty ...... you will find me wearing the swimming pool! The Minstrels are back in the gallery ready to inflict their usual madrigals and toccatas upon us. We have no hot plate specials or a selection of puddings, but barbecue is available, and Luigi's ice cream van is also down at the beach. There's a tea house down at the lake serving an assortment of refreshments, and within the Towers there is a buffet table with a choice of volley vonts and canopies. The Mixologist will be mixing a variety of tailcocks to suit everyone's individual tastes!
So come one come all, the hot tub is set to "tepid" (who wants hot in this heat?) the mini bar s full to bursting. The gardens and grounds at Nungate Towers is at the disposal of all Mad Over Fifties, so if there's anything special you particularly want simply ask!

Does nobody want a cheeseburger? I only burnt the onions a little bit, they don't taste so bad if you slather them with ketchup.
And I brushed most of the sand off the burgers.

Yeah, I'll have one Mammar, the lager will was the sand of my tonsils.

Having endured Queenie's carbonised onions a couple of weeks ago I shall pass for the moment Mammar! Now I know I like my onions well done so to speak, but this effort of hers was extracting the Michael - they were black and she had the temerity to tell me, "they're worse than they look" when her plate had lovely well cooked onions on it! (when I make Mac & Cheese I make a topping of bacon pieces, chopped onions and mushrooms fried in a little butter and oil - delish) But that time she made them ...

The sausages look done to a turn, any takers?
Potato salad? Mmm. Just a hint of paprika.
Non- alcoholic drinks are available. The chilli nuts are stupendous.

well that's the annoying thing Tony, she can cook. She bakes beautifully, and her everyday cooking isn't bad, but there are some things I can't teach her as I tend to cook by eye - drives her bonkers as she has been trying to make a cheese sauce but because I gauge everything and never measure she nags me as I say a lump of butter, some corn flour, mustard, slosh in the milk - drives her to distraction! Keep telling her to look it up in a cook book - Lord knows we have plenty of them!

Ah well nungate, we can't all be good at everything can we. However she does try though.
