Mad Over Fifties Club

Good evening and welcome to tonight's meeting of the Mad Over Fifties Club.
At the moment Nungate Towers are bathed in evening sunlight, which is reflected on the waters of the lake (which resembles a mill pond) The rowing boats are ready and waiting for members to arrive and perhaps take them out for a trip across to the island in the middle. Tonight's tailcock will be the Nonesuch, (there's never been anything like this before!) The "hot plate special" is my very own recipe for meatloaf accompanied with all the usual side dishes or salad! As for the pudding trolley, it is awash with delicious ice cream sundaes, all you have to do is choose your favourite. Of course we have, as always, a selection of canopies and volley vonts. The Minstrels are tuning up in the gallery ready to assail us with the usual selection of Madrigals and fugues, also playing in the ballroom will be our favourite local band the Tone Deafs with a selection of '60's covers! Such fun! The hot tub is bubbling away madly on the north tower, (naturally the mini bar has been replenished - well done Frank) the bungee is ready for bouncing, the gardens are looking splendid and it is a lovely evening for a stroll) The rowing boats are lined up and ready for use, as are the cars on the race track, anyone wishing to go for a swim both pools are fully set up (cossies are available)
For tonight's rofl I have : 6 rolls of tinsel
2 tons of snow
Sundry carrots (limp)
Bucket of coal lumps
Dozen Christmas crackers (6 used)
3 Barrels of Eggnog
Truly a fine pile of goodies tonight!
A warm welcome awaits all who dare enter these portals

Unless you happen to be me when major chores are done for me by Queenie and her Dad! I flick the occasional feather duster about, and order shopping online - it's a very equitable arrangement (from my point of view!) (I will admit to doing other chores though)
Good evening all - well that is my database work over for the day and now I can go for the wine/tailcock - the latter if there no nana juice in it.
Now in my bag, I have:
3 Briquettes
1 BBQ brush no bristles
1 two feet length of Cu hotwater pipe
1 bag of twigs
1 secateur, one blade only
1 spent Clinique sun tan lotion bottle
1 chopstick
1 Christmas Robin
1 baby block for a Xmas cake with Mekon babies
1 Lamp shade
2 needles
1 birthday candle, spent.

Definitely too late for gardening after 2.30. Water the plants in the morning or in the evening (or both if very hot) I always go indoors during the hottest part of the day anyway, just me, the cats and my stitching or I find a good film to doze through - that's retirement for you, mind you the only thing wrong with retirement is that you never get a day off!
Takes best beloved longer than that to deal with our weeds, Daisy. No sooner has he pulled them out than more of the bleeders appear! Even used weedkiller out in the front of the house recently, worked a treat but they are back again and it's been to wet or windy to use it again - dratted dandelions!
