In Memoriam - Owd.
50 Answers
It was a year ago today that our friend, Eric, aka Owd/Owdhamer , passed away after quite a battle with cancer.
I am sure that several of you will wish to pass or express your thoughts and memories of this wonderful, kind and likeable man that Owd was. It was only for a short time that some of us got to know him as we tried to help him keep his spirits up and prepare him for the next bout of chemo. His patience, warmth and love for Mrs Owd, his family and friends was, indeed, inspirational. Many of us would have loved to get to know him better but, sadly, this was not to be.
He is missed; however, his legacy is indeed that oft hackneyed expression, "He was a good man." In Owd's case, it was so true.
Mrs Owd does look into AB from time to time and enjoys seeing our banter. The day won't be a pleasant one for her, however, her wonderful memories should help her through this.
If you can take thirty seconds out today to think of Owd and other ABers that we have lost through illness or whatever, then the World will be a better place.
Lastly, I am reminded of a Dutch proverb: "Every goodbye is the birth of a memory." In Owd's case, "I hope those horses are running well for you upstairs, Eric. Bless You."

Well said DT - I didn't have too much interaction with Owd but when I did he was always courteous and humorous. A true gent. My thoughts go out to all those ABers who have passed, and for all those current ABers, myself included, who have lost loved ones along the way. May the departed all rest in peace.
