this is how I came to my letters I used I had to use the first letter of each answer to get my composer

1/across was former band of the Gallagher brothers = oasis
4/across was james bond villain played by Christopher lee = scaramanga
8/across was avoid work or a duty by staying away = c????
9/across was soothing music to send a child to sleep = lullaby

2/down was greek goddess of wisdom= Athena
3/down was mad or crazy = lunatic that's where the c came from on 8 across
5/down was famous dutch artist = Rembrandt
6/down was a person who sets out to upset others on the internet=troll
7/down was first name of tv character played by Warren Mitchell = Alf

so that's how I ended up with OSCLALRTA

thanks mazie for you help but that would still not be correct because that would have put lunatic wrong and the C from lunatic was the start of question 8 across but thankyou for trying
