Another excellent construction. The top right corner held me up for a while, but once the penny dropped I could sit back and admire Lavatch's skill -- many thanks.

I think I have it all correct; Google confirms the final step. Lots of very tough clues to solve, especially in the top half. I particularly admire 47a. Thanks, Lavatch
Yes, and I particularly enjoyed the title.
This had a laugh out loud endgame. After a very late start, we have just finished with sheer delight as we made the last move. Superb, thanks, Lavatch.
The top-right corner is pretty much the only bit I've managed to do so far...
Splendid construction, with excellent endgame. Some slightly borderline clues in my view but all forgiven when one beams with satisfaction at finishing a tough puzzle. Many thanks (yet again) to Lavatch.
Hi.

Times sold out again. Can anyone provide me with a copy please? Would be MUCH appreciated.
Excellent stuff from Lavatch. Some very tough clues (I particularly liked 17 and 47) and a couple of alternative options in unchecked cells which might catch the unwary. Great PDM and an altogether top puzzle. Thanks Lavatch.
Didn't think I'd make the finish line at one stage, but there now. Agree with Trux - some VERY borderline clues. As for 38a while I'm happy with the definition I can't fathom out the wordplay for the life in me! A brilliant construction though and a smiley moment when I grasped the final instruction. Thanks to Lavatch for another belter.

Hopefully not got caught by said traps, but made it to the end. Lavatch beat me last year so it's nice to even up the scores a little. Clues seemed very tough overall but a few crackers.
Thank you ruthrobin. You've made my day.

I had 3/4 done in about an hour, but the rest held me up for ages. Great puzzle. Thanks Lavatch.
Great puzzle with some difficult clues but a straightforward endgame.

Thanks, Lavatch
Pretty tricky. Would've liked an excuse to continue the shading.
Took me a while in the sun, but am very glad I persevered. I originally had a very different interpretation of the instruction which was wrong, but entirely plausible. Thanks, Lavatch. Many good clues and some really nice, devious, word usages.
Tough but fun - thank you, Lavatch.
Like others I enjoyed 47a, and as olichant says, some of the unusual meanings were astonishing.
Not quite the Friday club for me this week. Just got there after 3 days. My goodness some of those clues were sneaky. I must say I think I probably get more pleasure out of the slow grind than those who dash a crossword like this off before drinks time on Friday but maybe their enjoyment is just as great but more concentrated. I'm still flummoxed by the wordplay on 38 across though.
...and not just the wordplay. The definition as well, but there only seems to be one word that fits.
Think of the Latin plural for "gods" (Mars and Jupiter) and add it to the word you have. The definition implies a Scottish word, which it is
