This is quite embarrassing,im afraid i did miss vital information out of my mensa question many apologies to all concerned.This is the question again...
Two vehicles set off from the same point to travel the same journey,the first vehicle sets off nine minutes before the second vehicle.If the first vehicle travels at 75km/hour and the second vehicle travels at 100km/hour,how many kilometres from the starting point will the two vehicles draw level?

Just follow the method I used in the other link, but put your values in instead of those I used from the Express
I need pen and paper to be sure but I think the answer here is 45km
Sounds, on the face of it, a case of solving 2 simultaneous equations and solving for when they have covered the same distance, checking what the time is. Does that approach work ?

Car A
D = 75 * T

Car B
D = 100 * (T-0.15)

therefore

75T = 100T - 15

15 + 75T = 100T

15 = 25T

T = 0.6 Hours

D = 75 * 0.6 = 45 km


This sounds more of a test of maths than intelligence. Are you sure it's MENSA ?
