'tis the night before Christmas...well the Saturday before which is close as we're going to get this year and the giant Christmas Crossword is upon us ... too bad if the tree is not decked or the halls either for that matter ...it's heads down and nether regions uppermost trying to sort out an answer to these little gems -
SNOWMAN
MATCH GIRL
FATHER CHRISTMAS
HEARTH
Well two of those is not too bad, and one of the others is quite possible but the last one....I'm anticipating some very varied responses which I shall enjoy reading.
As always everyone is very welcome to take part or simply chip in with a comment, your entry should be in before midnight Sunday and I'll be back to sort the wheat from the chaff and posting results Monday morning...there just might be early chrissie presents for some !!
And before I wish us all Good Luck, I shall wish you all a very Merry Christmas and also the very best of New Years to come...stay safe and well, and now down to work !!
Hello everyone, a very happy Christmas where ever you are.
My Telegraph tells me that the answers are the authors of today's stories.
So technically everyone should get them right!
Grannydi
I have now read the paper and it calls for the writers, so igmore my previous ones
Raymond Briggs
Hans Christian Anderson
J R R Tolkien
Charles Dickens
Morning all. A very happy Christmas to everyone. We are both having the same answers this week, for obvious reasons. Seekerz - Jean has a couple of points and I am yet to score, so please be kind to me!!!!!!!
Gill and Jean
The Snowman RAYMOND BRIGGS
Letters from Father Christmas JRR TOLKIEN
the cricket on the hearth CHARLES DICKENS
The little match girl HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN
Good morning Steff and a very happy Christmas to you and yours.
Phyl & I have decided to do a joint one this week as there only four possible answers, so here goes:-
Raymond BRIGGS
Hans Christian ANDERSON
J R R TOLKEIN
Charles DICKENS
Hi Steff, and a very Happy Christmas to you and all our members!
Unless we have got this wrong, we are both going with:
Snowman BRIGGS
Match Girl ANDERSEN
Father Christmas TOLKIEN
Hearth DICKENS
Always seems a bit pointless this one at Christmas – Kate should just stick with the big Christmas crossword and not bother with ‘links’ for this week!
