'tis the night before Christmas...well the Saturday before which is close as we're going to get this year and the giant Christmas Crossword is upon us ... too bad if the tree is not decked or the halls either for that matter ...it's heads down and nether regions uppermost trying to sort out an answer to these little gems -
SNOWMAN
MATCH GIRL
FATHER CHRISTMAS
HEARTH
Well two of those is not too bad, and one of the others is quite possible but the last one....I'm anticipating some very varied responses which I shall enjoy reading.
As always everyone is very welcome to take part or simply chip in with a comment, your entry should be in before midnight Sunday and I'll be back to sort the wheat from the chaff and posting results Monday morning...there just might be early chrissie presents for some !!
And before I wish us all Good Luck, I shall wish you all a very Merry Christmas and also the very best of New Years to come...stay safe and well, and now down to work !!
The Snowman - Raymond Briggs
The Little Match Girl - Hans Christian Andersen
Letters From Father Christmas - J R R Tolkein
The Cricket On The Hearth - Charles Dickens
The Snowman - RAYMOND BRIGGS
The Little Match Girl - HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN
Letters from Father Christmas - J R R TOLKIEN
The Cricket on the Hearth - CHARLES DICKENS
Not sure these will be the correct answers - could be four more books titles by these authors....we shall see on Monday
Anyway, wish you all (especially seekeerz) a very Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year.
Since we don't get the newspaper her in Canada we're somewhat confused as to what we are supposed to answer this week. Can someone please explain. For example can we put 'Heath and Hearth' or 'Sad Little Match Girl?' In other words can we follow Kate's example and us double words in our answers. Thanks for the help.
Mr and Mrs O
I'm going to guess the names of the books from the Herculis - not sure if this is the right way to go either!
The Snowman - The Man
Match Girl - Sandman
Father Christmas - Beowulf
Hearth - The Chimes.
Maybe the links are just the authors, in which case, we'll ALL be correct!
Anyway, Happy Christmas to you all, when it comes, and especially to you, Seekeerz! xx
The Snowman - Raymond Briggs
The Little Match Girl - Hans Christian Andersen

The Cricket On The Hearth - Charles Dickens
