Brambles?
Question Author
Thank you Captain 2
I wold temper that answer because if it is 'Brambles' then surely it should be 'Blackberries'
In NE England bramble was the name of the bush on which blackberries grow. Traditionally the autumn half term school holiday was known as blackberry week. Elsewhere it was often referred to as tatie-picking week.
Ah but Jackdaw - do you remember Robertsons' Bramble Seedless Jam ('twas my favourite) - that was made from blackberries.
Yes I do. I also remember as a young boy coming across a set of bramble bushes which nobody knew were there. I stripped them of their fruit and took it home. For the next three weeks pudding was always blackberry pie.
