If you don't want to look, don't click on the thread! (only joking, mamy)

And

"if you don't want to look, don't click on the thread"
They mostly advertise it as 'no asking' ,some I agree you might not know if you have never done that compilers quizzes before.

When you do lots, you get to know which is which.

It's a minefield I know.
I'll set em up you hit em.
Ok, thank you :-)
I also think what is sad in this case is - dozyrozy stated 'don't want answer', her query has arisen due to a discrepancy in the word/letter count of the answer.

But the eagerness to solve always makes it's way to the fore.
Nobody has given the answer though and she hasn't said anything about a discrepancy? I did.
No actual answer given,no
I do think it a bit strange that some setters are happy to advertise their quizzes here but then stipulate that no-one should use the site afterwards.
Surely unless you're the setter it's none of your beeswax anyway.
As I am the setter, I suppose it must be 'my beeswax', I do stipulate no asking because its what most of my quizzers want and as they donate/participate regularly I respect their wishes. Publically displaying answers, especially weeks before the cut off date, while some are still sending for quizzes dramatically means a drop in sales, which means the charities lose out. Also it is very frustrating when competitors spend hours researching a clue and then see it given out freely on sites such as this, so much so that if it happens too many times thay stop sending for the quiz altogether and support those who dont get asked. It also means thgat at the end it becomes a lottery for the winner, which few people like. I am tempted to disqualify those who ask.... but it seems a bit harsh.
I take the point about advertising here then expecting people not to ask, but to help the charities we have to advertise somewhere and better to advertise where people are expecting to find them. At the end of the day, this problem has been going on for longer than I care to remember and no doubt before I even started these quizzes so getting 'shirty' with each other doesnt really help.
as I have said beffore all I want to do (impossible as this is) is raise funds for a service which is invaluable and provide a bit of fun for those participating too.
As for the letter count again all I ask for is a bit of 'poetic licence' with this. It is very easily googled, those asking on here must have this facility, so why not use it and put a bit of effort in.
Before someone comes back and has a go about me asking, which I have occasionally, this is usually when they are local quizzes within the villages here and I am really climbing the walls, and I dont submit them anyway so sadly will not get the answers, by which time I'm on the ceiling almost.
Please folks dont keep bckbiting, lets just agree to disagree on subjects like this.
