Surely by buying a quiz you enter a form of contract and agree to bide by the rules,even if only tacitly,so if the setter says no asking......

People are more likely to submit their entry if they get it completed thus generating more income for the particular charity.

I cannot understand why some compilers make this stipulation. Are they or other competitors adversely affected by people asking? Does this extend to Googling? If crossword compilers set such a restriction there would be a few unhappy faces on this site.

Personally, I think it's good advertising. I don't understand why they make these stipulations. Particularly as they really aren't in a position to.

I have said often that Crosswords are ephemeral and Magazine Comps are purely prize led - these quizzes are almost wholly Charity Fundraising ones and have weeks and often months to run.

Some are almost totally asked and often whilst there is still time for others to send in for a copy,hence a drop in sales

We the quizzers have the right to refuse to send for 'no asking' quizzes if we wish - I for one always try to honour the quiz setters wishes.



Now of course, someone will say - if you don't want to look, don't click on the thread.
