Early Butterflies And The Odd Bumble Bee...

Quite a lot of butterflies appeared in my garden today, now that the weathers improving and the days are getting longer.
They seem ahead of the wild flowers this year, I was glad that I had plenty of forgetmenots, lungwort and primroses around to keep them happy.
First one to catch my eye was a brimstone, then comma, peacock, tortoise shell and an almost black one that didn't stay still long enough for me to id it.
Roll on summer!

Julia,
That was a good idea to leave the shed door open, to allow them to exit.
I've seen some good patches of primroses this year too! but not any dandelions so far, just the odd daisy. They say its truly spring when you can cover five daisies with your foot, my size tens can't cut the mustard yet ;-)
