Hello all,

Welcome to this month's Onwards & Downwards. We welcome anyone serious about losing weight and we offer support and kind thoughts - not magic fixes, just sensible help.

I Hope everyone has been enjoying the small amount of warmer weather we had in the last couple of weeks, I think we are now into the April showers though!

In May good things to eat include new potatoes, asparagus and gooseberries, yum.

Here are a couple of healthy recipe ideas:

Lamb is also good to eat now.

Thanks Ed. mmmmmmm my mouth is watering at the thought of lamb!
Cheers.
If I'm not mistaken Maydup you had a weight loss this ŵeek but kind of got lost in the turnover. Well. done! And now back to sleep.
Thanks ab auntie

me too OG I can taste the lamb now .
white asparagus here in Cornwall - yum!

some super salad ingredients coming in too - min. carbs diet, just done two local lettuces, cucumber, lambs leaf and watercress with yesterday's chicken, toms, french beans and mangetout blanched, Jersey news for the mater....oh, and chives for the garnish.

dressing: start with a little Maille Dijon mustard, a tablespoon of maple syrup (the one extravagance diet-wise), crushed and diced garlic, black pepper and a good basalmic, then a nice olive oil forked in......

one green Golden Delicious Apple for dessert.

33 pounds down now.

Well done, DTC. Very tasty menu...keep up the good work.
thanks, Jomlett, Blam chops tomorrow (Barnsley) - can't call it 'lamb' in this household - the neighbours, Sunday Lunch, Rosemary and Gigot, get very upset at the thought.
I think blam chops is an excellent word and shall adopt it if I may.
pork, given my daughter's massive collection of them on her bed, is 'krop'......
Well done to everyone! Jomlett, BMI of 22 sounds perfect, what is your BMI goal?
well done DT but be careful with the pork . I try and avoid it but I do like it especially the crackling .
Marjin...My BMI from 30 to 22 is a bonus after reaching my target of 68 K. Thing is, I'm still carrying a little flab, so my next long term target is 66 K, but there's no hurry as I'm eating a little more sensible carbs; my 35" waist, though, is very enjoyable!

Wow! That's very impressive. Well done!
Morning down 2 lbs but that is over 2 weeks . I have still not got back to xmas weight need 3/4 of a stone off still .If I cut all bread out I can do it .
XSTITCHER has not managed to weigh yet but she is improving slowly and hopes to be back with us soon .
I'm down another 400 grams to 68.5k after increasing my carb intake, though more exercise has helped me reduce. Finding the diet that suits me, has made it so easy and I strongly recommend the low carb diet,
Well done the rest of you.

Due to an inexplicable drop of 2.6 lbs over the last 24 hours, I'm finishing the week up again. By 0.6 lbs. I was this weight in July 2012. Maybe I should just give it a rest for 6 months or something. It's proving next to impossible ever since I lost the ability to record intake on my flash drive as I progressed through the day; and I seem unable to find the enthusiasm to record on paper.
well done Jomlett is it possible for you to give me a menu of your meals over 2 days . Breakfast lunch and dinner .
OG you are trying too hard . Just for one week don't weigh and see the outcome next wed .
Wendilla -
Day 1 Breakfast: Porridge with skimmed milk
Lunch: Egg and bacon fried using olive oil
Evening: Maize Penne and Tuna sauce

Day 2 Breakfast: Egg and bacon fried using olive oil
Lunch: Weight Watchers Mediterranean Vegetable soup
Evening: Poached chicken with lentils and mustard.
Thanks for that . I like the idea of bacon and egg . Thats my fav.
Frying with olive oil, coconut oil or butter is ok but avoid using any of these: High Omega-6 Seed- and Vegetable Oils: Cottonseed-, soybean-, sunflower-, grapeseed-, corn-, safflower and canola oils.
