Personalised number plates

Why pay £100's for a number plate just because it has your initials/name?

An ideal plate for some of these egotistical people would be KN08 HED

No.2

Tattoos of your children's names/birthdates

Is this in case you forget what they're called or heir birthday is?

A reminder on the calendar is usually far less painful and also less unsightly

No 1, because I want one.

No 2 because I want one or two or three or......
No 1.Had a few - a bit of fun.

No 2. Not for me.
No. 1, I have one. guilty!

No. 2, I hate tattoos and I agree the calendar is much better.
No1....investment. Bought mine for £400 and sold it 5 years later for £2,000.

No2....those people come under your first point...KNOB HEDs
I've never had either of these things, but at the end of the day it's up to individual choice of what they want to spend their money on and what they wish to do to their bodies. x
no 1 because I like it and it saves me having to keep remembering a new car reg and what business is it of yours what i spend my money on?

Number 2 no idea as I have no kids but again not really your business.
SPOT ON barsel and woofgang
No1...I used to think they were ostentatious until my children bought me one for my birthday. I like it

No2...not a fan of tattoos, but each to their own.
Sqad's number plate was probably IBU 600 GR.
^^^ LOL......I darn't say what it was....
1) totally agree -people have more money tha sense
2) because some people's children are THE MOST important thing in the world to them

OH and myself run 3 cars all with Personalised number plates, all three plates are valued at a lot more than we paid for them, not so pointless!

Tattoos, no, none, but each to their own.

How we choose to spend our moneyis up to us, you don't like it, tough!!!!!!
What bednobs said.

Very well said bednobs...very, very well said......and....very philosophical.
I agree maggiebee.
as some people have said, personal reg's are an investment
I like some personal plates. A woman I know called Barbara has BAB 1.
A man I know has his three initials LVO 1

I don't like the ones that are contrived with numbers supposedly letters.
I must admit I can't understand the hankering for a personalised number plate (it's good business for DVLA tho').

Why not just display an additional plate with your name on it - for a few £s.

Tattoos are a personal choice, not for me however.
because I don't want to go around with my name on my car and because I like not having to learn a new reg. its like keeping my mobile phone number.

Pointless (and expensive) because you've bought the plates and will more than likely keep them to go on any other future vehicle changes

Not an investment after all because you'll not profit from what they're allegedly worth, so, in effect, an expensive egotistical over-indulgence
They're not really personalised though, are they?
If they were I'd be able to request douglas9401 but I can't as it would cause the universe to fold in on itself, apparently.
