I'm Searching For A Particular Advert From The 80S - Can You Help?
5 Answers
Hi there,
Does anyone else remember an advert which contained a rock band, particularly an electric guitar, playing a great rendition of Beethoven's 3rd Symphony "Eroica". I vaguely recall it may have been for the British Electricity Authority, British Gas, or something akin, but I can't find a version of it anywhere. I also feel it may have been around the time everything was being privatised in the UK so it may have been used as a pre-launch type advert, hence why I feel it was in the 80s.
I'm trying to locate it, or more importantly, the music from it.
Would love your help. Thank you.

Alas no - that's a midi based playback.
The one I recall was definitely played by real people and recorded in a studio. The performance on screen was done as if at a live concert. The electric guitar had a beautiful tone with a slight addition of overdrive. Although I said I'm looking for the music, I feel it may be located through finding the advert. Thank you for the offering, though, it is much appreciated.
