The difference between there and here is ISIS forced them to wear burkhas. We are a free country and people can wear what they like.
This is the 'what messages does the war in Syria hold for the way I iron my trousers' school of thought sandy, but good luck :-)

You really believe that do you sandy?
The Burkas should be banned here the way things are throughout Europe, there is no need what so ever of the stupid face covering just to please their men.
AOG, I do believe we're free. Do you not?
Legally we're free but many people aren't in reality.
'We are a free country and people can wear what they like.'

I beg to differ, Sandy. My peek-a-boo mankini attracted the attention of the local peace officers.
Those lady peace officers really should try to keep their professional and private lives separate.
They were maybe offering sympathy...

Yes we may be free sandy, but unfortunately there are some women of a certain religion who are not so fortunate.
Sandy; If we were all free, Theresa May would not need to commence this new and long overdue initiative;

There are many women of different religions that are controlled in various ways by their menfolk.

And no, I'm not an apologist.

There are also many men of various religions who are controlled in various ways by their womenfolk, but not in the Islamic religion I'm afraid.

/// And no, I'm not an apologist. ///

It must have crossed your mind, if not why bother with this way-out clause?
Don't you think that video looks a little too CIA stage-managed? - one piece of fabric that doesn't want to burn anyway. I clicked on the link expecting (hoping) to see scantily clothed Syrian ladies dancing for glee, but the most they are offering are their faces. :0(

More and more countries are placing bans on certain items of clothing.

See the list at the bottom of this report, notice the UK isn't amongst them.

Banning the burkini is laughable, to be condemned for modesty is a joke.

As I recall Nigella Lawson wore one to protect her from the sun whilst holidaying in Australia, I doubt she's the only non Muslim to have worn such garment.
