/// Do you not remember what it was like at school FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT! ///
Not with concrete blocks and baseball bats I don't.
The apologists at work once again, surprised at the BBC even reporting on the colour of some of the yobs.
/// Shane Newman, who works in a local betting shop, said he saw "several black youths" who "looked to be around 13 to 16 years old... running up and down the street". ///

## Are there lessons to be learnt ? I'm asking my self . ##
I definitely think so Weecalf, starting with Magistrates & Judges, on giving stiffer sentences to those who break the law.
Kids/youths know these days they will only be given a small fine, or a few hours community work, which is seen so often on the various TV police series, they just laugh at authority.
How long will it be, before we have security company's looking after the teachers & pupils, which I believe has started in some schools.

Well forgive me, but i thought that after 30 years of banning corporal punishment in schools, we would have in the UK a more tolerant, disciplined and less violent society.
Not sure that i have seen any of that.
Teachers whom i have spoke to tell me that kids as young as 10 years old, commonly use the "F" word and "C" word amongst more commoner swear words. Disciplining these children at school, without corporal punishment doesn't seem to be working.
However..... this policy is unlikely to change so I ask "Has this report from the BBC really surprised you?

How to behave is supposed to be, primarily, a parental control / kid upbringing issue.
Expletives are not really the issue. They change over time and only a few get hot under the collar these days at things that would cause apoplexy in bygone days.
Never mind about corporal punishment, I don't think that the law allows you to look sternly at the little darlings these days, for that is assault and a clear breach on their human rights.
