ugh !!!!! this is driving me nuts ,please let us know the answer when you get it xx
Is it (lady)bugging you, mally?
I'll have a look at some previous clues/answers as I'm not sure what form these answers take
I found this question from years ago on ab and it wasn't answered then xx
ladybird could be a hen (lady bird) rather than the spotted beetle
yes we have been down that route with hen , cob, gander
I could find penchants but only 9 or take a gander
'Pen' is a female swan.
I meant pen lol hence pen xx
penchants^
I thought of foresighted (if that's a word)- it's not right but might generate some ideas.
pensiveness.......?
or penetrative?
Yes, starting with PEN looks pronising.
Being could be IS but I don't want to go down that route
oh! just found penetrative can mean aware ,
Yes, penetrative looks as if it is worth a further look
Could ET be a BEING (from outer space)
penetration
PEN +ET + RATION (sounds like RASH ON- spotted)?
Still doesn't quite work as it doesn't use every bit of the clue- even if penetration is the 'aware' bit where does opportunity then fit in?
Just to get this back onto Latest Posts...

Other words that came to mind were:
1) forecasting (although clue's tense would suggest forecasted)- F for female, sounds like AUK (bird) and I'm not sure of the rest.

2) ANTICIPATED (as it fits the 'spotted an opportunity' bit but apart from ANTI sounds like Auntie I can't parse it.
Has anyone any ideas on this please?
