I need to secure a solid wood internal door at home for a few days in my absence. I've been looking at rack bolts which I think will do the trick and I can fit them myself into the edge of the door and the frame. The link shows the sort of thing I mean:

My question is about the key, which looks like a splined rod. I'd like to know if a key of this type will open any rack bolt anywhere (ie it's not specifically made to go with the rack bolts bought) and is it possible to open a door fitted with a rackbolt using some twisting and turning with a screwdriver blade for example. I suppose I need to know how secure these bolts are in reality. I don't expect them to give me the security of Fort Knox but I'm reluctant to go down the road of fitting a mortice lock.
Thank you.
