A prisoner in a cell is offered the chance of freedom.

There are two doors in his cell marked A and B, each guarded by a sentry.

Through one door is freedom and the other door leads to another prison cell for life.

The prisoner will be allowed to ask one guard only, one question and is told that one guard will always lie and the other will always tell the truth. The prisoner can ask either guard but does not know which is the truthful one or the lier.

What is the question the prisoner should ask in order to gain freedom?

Nope, the answer is to ask either guard "What answer would your colleague give?" and then take the opposite option. Lateral thinking in a big way................
