Not difficult to identify the Roman town and the principal contractor, but a saint who was educated there and died circa AD655? I've searched high and low and can't come up with one. The never-answered ancillary clues can be soooo frustrating!

Indeed he did, but I can't find any evidence that he ever came to Britain. The best possibility I can find is Saint Foillan, who is recorded as passing through Wales before settling in East Anglia:
