Hi ImagineDragons

You've asked a series of questions on here about answering test questions in maths and science subjects.

As you well know, we can solve these quite easily, but increasingly few of us will, as there seems to be relatively little learning going on here.

Your latest questions require you to know how to use the quadratic formula. This site does not have the formatting ability to write that down easily.

I suggest you do a little more revision and try to sort it out yourself, This looks like a good place to start:

For 1 the quadratic formula is best but you could divide both sides by 2 to get x² - 2x + 0.5 = 0
This can be factorised but involves √2.

Number 2 can be factorised . Try rewriting as 3x² - 3x + 7x - 7 = 0 .
Then 3x(x-1) + 7(x-1) = 0
You are nearly there now.

For 3 you omitted the question but have a go yourself first
Hi ImagineDragons

The site, https://quadraticsolver.com , provides step by step solution using quadratic formula for a given quadratic equation. Just enter the values of the coefficients of a, b and c and you are good to go.

For 1)
a = 2
b = -4
c = 1

For 2)
a = 3
b = 4
c = -7
