89 An island discovered in the 1600s probably
What is the theme please?
Using this resource helps a lot.
http://www.gazetteer.org.uk/

eg

89 A word associated with Santa - use the 'starts with' option.

Theme is places in Great Britain and 77 should be cycling not circling a typo error sorry
89 Good clue Mamy - my first word wass correct but not my second
77 Mr Steyn is a sportsman and goes after the said exercise which sounds like it's done in a textile mill.
99 Not totally sure - only use this if you get nothing better!
The area of land is a division of the land in Switzerland (like we have county, they have .?????)
Put in front a three letter word for what you hope your horse does when you back it in a race, and you have the answer which is a racecourse town.
Been tearing your head out over quite a few!
I beg your pardon, QuizmasterG!
I presume QM is referring to the fact that this is the sixth time Bubster has asked some from this quiz.

Obviously the OP has a blind spot with these, we all have one.

I maintain that the resource I linked to is a real boon for UK places - find a word in the clue and work with it.

Good luck.
Why not just send it in with blanks?
I'm sure this would help with the stress levels.

Thankyou Mamyalynne don’t usually struggle as much as I have with this quiz but I really could do without some of the comments that have been made by some of the other brain of Britain’s it’s only a game!!
And I agree with you Bubster, this is a question and answer site and you have done nothing wrong. Please keep asking if you need more help!
I will say Bubster, I do appreciate the fact you are clear about which quiz it is and the closing date too - there have been some rather sneaky tactics from others recently which does nothing for morale.

Hope you have got some help towards these now.
Brains Of Britain.
Is this "game" as in "It's not the winning, it's the taking part"?
The bit about sending it in with blanks was an honest and genuine suggestion. I do it all the time with quizzes.
I agree with you Bubster about the know alls who just put snide commments, also with JJ109 it is a question/answer site.
I send in with blanks and occasional daft guesses with an accompanying 'smiley'
I presume all the defenders of "askers" freely contribute to the charity quizsetters or enter their quizzes?
That is the point of them being produced in the first place rather than being a little free entertainment for people with too much time on their hands.
I do 20+ charity quizzes per month and as long as the OP gives clear details as Bubster has, I then make my decision on whether to help, a little,a lot or not at all.

As I stated above, I dislike being hoodwinked as I was last night.
How do you feel when someone ask a few at a time in several posts instead of all at once? It makes it look as if each time they just need a few when really then need a lot
Me is that, how do I feel?

It varies, I am nothing if not inconsistent, I decide on the spur of the moment - love to add clues but very often answers get given before I can type a sentence.

Like adding resources that can help too.

We all have our ways and I know for a fact mine don't sit well with everyone.
