As per usual I'm stuck!
I've got most of the grid filled in, but, only 2 of the six 'single misprint ' clues yielding S at 1 across & U at 15 down. the six "word one letter longer" have eluded me completely!
So both the phrase & landmarks are a mystery to me!
Could some kind person give me a nudge or two to get me going again?
Thanks

Questions:
I assume the wordsquare is not in the grid?
Is the left hand vertical word ciscos?
Is the phrase foreign?
Please could someone give me a big hint about the landmarks.
I've spent far too many hours on this to give up now!
Thanks for your patience!

Ripper, it sounds quite complicated, and it was - but it worked out in the end. The wordsquare doesn't go in the grid - it's just a means to find the phrase. Yes, Ciscos is correct, so you've probably lined them up properly. If you read down your second column (from the O in Cockle), you'll see the start of a phrase. It continues in the fifth. Let me know if this helps!
Ripper - For the landmarks it will help a great deal if you check the wiki entry for a specific location (with SQ... in its name) It is also a location on the phrase you'll get from the word square.
When you've changed 5 letters you're left with real words, and the landmarks are symmetrical across entries.
