right, it seems I have low platelets... I should be able to get some nice new ones in John Lewis's sale. I've given more blood, provided samples of this and that and had my sceen splanned... screen spammed... oh, whatever. But now my gum is sore and I feel a couple of extractions coming on... does it ever stop.

May I pick your brains biddies, esp jno. I am going to get a 8gb pen drive for storing my photos, or would a 4gb be just as good? Now when I have put some photos on it, can I keep adding to it when I get more until the gb is full? or is it a once only use.

well, an 8gb one will hold twice as many photos (or anything else) as a 4gb one. Unless it's some peculiar one-off thing, you can just keep piling them in until it's full.

my spleen is fine, it seems (if they enlarge they gobble up a lot of platelets - even a normal one is using 20% of them, so Captain Blood said), so there must be some other explanation for what's going on, and that means more tests. Only one way to find out: Raquel Welch! Miniature submarine!

There's an awful smell of burning which is getting stronger, so I guess we have a forest fire somewhere, but can't hear any sirens of any sort.

how spooky jno, I just went upstairs and there was a smell of smoke coming through my bedroom window...
and is everyone feeling the same as me and fallen asleep?...I feel most odd, like I've been drugged...probably something in the air...not some hippy ritual night is it?

Although I am not jno, I have also felt weird today, very floaty but luckily I managed to make 8 cornish pasties before I took to my bed. I put it down to the heat or to the 2 big slices of chocolate cake which I finished off and I do not much like chocolate!

Can't see any clouds anywhere but the smell is very strong, so it must be a fair bit away.

Hello all. It's nearly goodnight time innit. Seem to have been on the go all day. Went to Tai chi then Stanton by Dale for lunch came home parked my car then caught the bus to town, Have been on my lap top for ages sorting out some new curtains for my front room. Then on Skype to my sister who is waiting for a call from her daughter in New Zealand. Robi hope you are able to contact your family often.
Jno hope your tests are just bloodtests and you get sorted soon.

First of all let me thank everybody for your Good Wishes on our 6oth W.A. I am now walking in the same circles as jno i.e. after a phone call to Buckingham Palace (made by daughter) we have received a Congratulatory Letter and Photo of the Queen and also one from the Governor -General of Australia and one from our Prime Minister on the occasion of Our Diamond Wedding Anniversary !
Mind you there was no note in there inviting us round to afternoon tea - maybe Liz has a lot on her mind and forgot to put it in -I'll keep waiting for it ! Meanwhile anyone else wants to send one we'll be round tout sweet !
Meanwhile I do wish all the Biddies and their OH.s quicker recoveries and enjoy what is left of your Summer and also Autumn. It's the last month of Winter here ,we welcome Spring on Sept.1st ,just now the weather is beautiful during the day ,cooler at night .
