Prize Winners

Has anybody won any crossword prizes lately?. I'm doing 24 GK and cryptic crosswords every week and have'nt won anything since June.I wonder if I'm wasting my time.

I've never won anything, so I've given up sending them in, but a friend of mine has won various crossword prizes of �50 from all sorts of different sources.

Just keep on going fergol. My sister-in-law and I submit aproximately the same number as you each week. Between us we have been runners-up in the Daily Telegraph GK, DT Cryptic and Sunday Times Cryptic, though not recently. She has won the Herculis and Mail Bare Bones too.

Won �25 three weeks ago with You magazine crossword. Over the years must have paid out this in stamps but it's still a thrill to win. My advice to you is to keep on plodding away you just never know.

I send in as many crosswords as I can find (and have time to do) including local newspapers. What I find strange is that practically all prizes go south and very few ever reach the north of England where I live. I find this with premium bond prizes too.

I also wonder if the Daily Record 500 pound crossword is ever won by anybody south of the border! I for one have never seen a winner with a non scottish address.

I won �10 recently in a local newspaper prize crossword, and my wife won �10 a few months ago. We assume they don't have many entries!
