I took credit out to pay off my implants/teeth and I have just another £600 to pay. This was the very first time I did so but when this is paid off - I don't have any wish to borrow any more again.

I absolutely don't like being in debt. I hate having it over my head. Are there others who don't like paying off debt whatever.

I don't suppose there are many who 'like' paying debts, JJ. My youngest daughter, for instance. She loves to borrow from the 'Bank Of Dad', but baulks at the repayments :-)
I have never paid for anything on a Credit Card though I did have an Argos card back in the day and paid for my first laptop with 6 monthly payments. The upside was, that I got used to that money not being mine each month, so when it was all paid for, it was like I was getting extra money each month :-)
I’m lucky, I do not possess a credit card .
I hate debt of any sort but similar to Ken, I’ve used interest free options for computers and white goods , the thought of being charged any interest fills me with horror , oh and used a credit card for flights and still do but always pay it straight off
I got into a bit of trouble with a store card many years ago. Never again. I've paid for a few things by monthly instalments but I'd never want anything with interest attached. It's like being robbed.

yes, but the funny thing is I am not being charged interest so do wonder how "they" make money out of it.
I've been very lucky to have never been in debt. If I want something I will save for it or pay with my credit card (to collect points) and pay off large sums of it in 2 or 3 instalments. Haven't used my credit card in ages so have zero balance.
JJ, they make money out of those people who accrue interest by not paying off the full amount.

oh right ok - thanks
The people who did the implants will have charged you more because they will have paid the interest to the bank.
Or another way is they’ll have made less profit on what they charged you.
Someone always pays in the end, lending money is never free.

no Vagus I didn't pay via my dentist - I took a Credit Card out from Santander.

PS I have paid way way above (monthly) what I should have been paying.
I have a credit card for emergencies, but it's only got a £200 limit, so it's not going to break me.

I've been in debt seemingly forever, and I hate it. Being debt free would be a dream.
Not really sure what you mean jj.
As long as you’re happy...
For a long time I was in debt to the bank and had to budget for every penny to pay off the overdraft while putting aside some for bills. I used to wake in the night worrying. Thank goodness that’s over. Never again.
Having a credit card is a temptation to buy what you can't afford.
I love my credit card. I use it to pay for absolutely everything that I can. I pay it off in full every month, get loads of money back every three months and have the added protection that paying for goods and services with a credit card gives me. When companies have refused to refund me I have always got the money back from the credit card company. What's not to like?
JJ, they make money because the businesses pay the credit card company every time they accept a credit card payment. So when you paid for your teeth, the dentist would have paid a per centage to the credit card company.
Luckily never been in debt. I hate paying interest on anything. I pay , apart from council tax, all yearly bills on demand, ie, car tax and insurance, house insurance.

I then put so much per month in a savings account till next year is due.

Done this for years.
I went a bit mad with my card when I first got one. I bought silly purple suede shoes that were a bit too small, jackets and bags which I soon lost on drunken nights out. God, what an idiot I was!
We have a CC but only use it to book holidays or large purchases because of the extra insurance it offers. Never paid any interest on it.
