That was my first thought too when i saw it on the news.
If a child had died I wonder if they could have been charged
Stomach churning.
Someone who gets paid to risk his life probably has a different mindset to the rest of us, which means he thinks risking the lives of his children is perfectly okay.
//he thinks risking the lives of his children is perfectly okay. //

More likely he thinks it's entirely safe. I don't.
He has utter faith in his ability and equipment so doesn't see it as a major risk like you do.
Coming soon: 'They died doing what they loved'.
I wouldn't let my kid cross the road without me at that age, far less go mountain climbing. Completely irresponsible in my opinion.
probably not the only one piggy but fear not
the kid was double top roped, parents experienced climbers, the lad is going to have a wonderful life. I did a lot of climbing several stone ago, wonderful experience.
I agree absolutely with TTT. A parent's job is not to protect its children from danger; it's to teach them how to recognise danger and deal with it safely.
I'm inclined to agree with TTT. I am sure that the father, an experienced climber, made sure that his children were totally safe.
It's no different from the circus kids doing the trapeze at 3 years old etc. You do what your parents do, I only wish I had parents like that. I had to discover all those things later.
I’m with TTT. (Hang on, what? ;))

I think it’s great that those children are doing things like that.
I agree with TTT [mops brow]. Keeping your kids safe doesn't mean wrapping them in cotton wool. As long as you know what you're doing, go ahead.
lol... when did you start doing trapeze work, TTT?
I believe the children were perfectly safe at all times, unlike the toddlers I see on child seats on the back of the parents' bikes whizzing round the city.
Indeed. A lot safer than some
Just chill. It's merely a family selfie to taunt you.
Isn't that what everything devolves to these days ?
"Look at us ! Can you afford this holiday?"
Lose a kid ? Hello. Have you heard of insurance ?

AZardoz: just a tad cynical.
I have no problem with these experienced climbers showing their 7 year old daughter the ropes, so to speak. The climb was most likely done at a snail's pace to accommodate the daughter's 'stride' and the fact mum had 3 year old Jackson strapped to her back for the most part. Obviously young Freya will have climbed lesser heights, building up to this one. Equally obviously, she enjoys it.
