We went out earlier for a planned walk about and a meal in a pub. We were a little late getting there and most of the shops were closed. I was so disappointed at how run down the place looked compared to the last time we were there.
We had a little drink al fresco and then made our way to the pub. From the outside it looked lovely but when we walked inside we both noticed an unpleasant smell and it wasn't how we imagined. We walked out and jumped back in the car and, after considering our options, headed home.
We've now got a disposable BBQ on the go and just had salmon kebabs and lamb kofta to start. The steaks are now cooking whilst I relax with a nice glass of wine.
I’m a real home bird , I live life to the full with holidays , nights out and weekends away but I love being home ,there’s something about it, it’s called contentment :0)
I know what you mean Bobbi. We've been to Florida lots of times but I always had a slight feeling of unease at being so far from home in a foreign country. And the golf courses aren't as good as they make out. Trust me!
So am I LadyGC. I've played golf for over 60 years and been club secretary, treasurer, captain (twice), president and am currently a Vice-President. I think some places just want your money. We see lots of exaggeration about golf courses on their websites and Florida is no exception, although Magnolia was very nice but had over 100 bunkers!
Home to me is sun shining ( showing the dust ) in the Summer, seeing my garden ablaze at night with much solar lighting when it gets dark, sitting outside our local pub with Mr B on Saturday afternoons, going out with my pals on Wednesday nights then in the Winter, fire glowing, curtains and blinds closed to the outside world , a takeaway and a bottle of wine with my best mate , sighhhhh :0)
Sounds wonderful, Bobbi. I'm not a fan of winter but its lovely sharing a bottle of wine in front of a roaring fire when it's freezing and miserable outside.
