I've thought this myself, Mallyh. Wondered if it could be like an Amazonian rainforest tribe but couldn't find anything with this either.

the Amazons were mythical (though they may have had some historical basis in Scythian female warriors), and there are no tribes of female warriors in the Amazon river basin. It does look to me as if someone has accidentally put the answer in the middle of the question.
