It depends which name he chooses to use but if he chooses William he will be William V.
Will the force be with us?
I thought he had already chosen Charles 111
roopower - read the question and then think again.
The OP is talking about William ....Charles's son .... the next in line after Charles III.
Charles has Roopower. :-)
Vee
as above

But they can change and do - Bertie (Albert) to Edward ( not surprisingly. Victoria maintained B had killed her dearest ALbert when he went on a journey to reprove his eldest for consorting with a prostitute - Andrew please note )

Prince George did become George V - but HIS prince George didnt become George VI, his brudda ( bertie) did. George became george duke of kent ( drug addict)
I reckon he’ll have a break with protocol and in honour of his grandfather maybe become King Philip, I don’t believe we’ve ever had one of those, have we?
I said that a few days ago - we'd be living in the Fallopian era :D
No - but I don't see why he should become King Philip.
His given names are William Arthur Philip Louis and it's convention to choose one of those as his regnal name.
I know.
King Harry
Another expensive shindig.

Exactly.

William: immediately conjures images of The Conquerer.

Arthur: tough act to follow, too mythical.

Louis: Mon dieu! Too French for the Brits.

Hence my reasoning for Philip. The First, plus a nice nod to his Gramps.
'Louis' comes not from any Frenchman but from Lord Louis Mountbatten. William's youngest son is also called Louis.

I didn’t say it came from a Frenchman, I said it was too French for the establishment.
I’d imagine that history alone will dictate that we’ll never have a king named Louis.

But as you’ve been answering negatively, give us your opinion on what it should be, other than ‘no’?
I gave answers at 07:58 and 10:26, but I'll add to it. Having been at the forefront of the monarchy for decades and always known as William, I think he will become William V.
Almost certain to be William V - but if they want to modernise the monarchy maybe a name from the "most popular" list. Noah 1st?
Can only hope the monarchy is a thing of the past before this happens.
