// The BBC has decided not to broadcast an episode of Sir David Attenborough’s flagship new series on British wildlife because of fears its themes of the destruction of nature would risk a backlash from Tory politicians and the rightwing press, the Guardian has been told. //

Shameful. Anyone spot a theme developing ?

Not sure what happened with the question title ?

Peter Pendant gave a good answer to this elsewhere.
The BBC says it was always intended to be a five episode series
I thought we'd done this already and I pointed out the bbc had comisioned 5 episodes and are showing all 5. A sixth one was added and that's going to be on iplayer. Is that cencorship???

I find this so laughable, talk about bullsh*t, the BBC are in the main the most woke, lefty, luvvie, upsucky to minority groups bunch you could possibly put together.
Really, Prudie? Does that include the Chairman and the Director General?
Any chance of posting a link from any outlet other than The Guardian to show a more reasoned view?

Guardian criticises Tory shocker.
You can't base it on individual staff, you need to base it on output. I can only assume you who think it's Tory biased never actually listen to it. Try Radio 4 for starters, the previously most stuffy traditional BBC channel.
@16.11.Either that or Bullsh*t By Conspiracy theorists like Groms?
Really, Prudie? Then why are the Chairman and DG not at arms? Let's be clear, you're saying that so many BBC people are leftie lovers that the output is decidedly left. But the Chairman and DG, who are Tories, don't mention that. Instead they pick out a football presenter, not on the BBC, but on Twitter!
I’ve looked elsewhere rather than The Guardian, because it’s a terrible paper, and agree with Bob.

The OP is wrong.
He has every right to express his opinion but as you said, he is a football presenter employed by the BBC. He us meant to tell us about football not his champagne socialist views.
You can all revel in his support and isn't it great all the others have sucked up into the bargain. I wonder what they'll be doing in a few month's time.
My apologies to bobbinwales for mis-crediting what he posted (and not Mr Pedant).

The BBC have made 6 programmes, but only intend to broadcast 5.
Is this a common practice? Have there been other series where an episode has not been broadcast? Seems like an odd thing to do.
outdated entertainment license, i do not watch anything on the bbc amymore, stifled woke nonsense, there is a plethora of other free channels and streaming media if one wants, what ever party says they will end it, i will vote for.
> He us meant to tell us about football not his champagne socialist views.

Well, he wasn't employed, but let's not dwell on that. The main thing is that he does "tell us about football not his champagne socialist views" when he's on the BBC! This comment was on Twitter, giving his own opinion on his own time on a social media platform.
The "sixth program" was not part of the series of 5 programs (funnily enough) but was made for the RSPB and WWF, and the BBC have acquired it to show on the Iplayer, so as already was pointed out, the OP was wrong.
Look we are all going to disagree. Though he may be freelance and whatever tax etc implications that brings is he is still paid by the BBC to comment on sport. We won't call that employed fine.
"The BBC (British Broadcasting Corporation) is a British public service broadcaster. Its main responsibility is to provide impartial public service broadcasting in the UK, Channel Islands and Isle of Man. BBC is a public corporation of the Department for Culture, Media and Sport"
If he openly attacks the Govt on Twitter good for him but then don't expect to be paid by them.
If I bad mouthed my employer on here or twitter or wherever I wouldn't expect them to say it's OK, you can say what you like on social media, I'd be dismissed.
I agree with Prudie. It was also disingenuous if he did not think his twitter comments would not be picked up. He has behaved like an entitled diva imho
