Here's the thing Workno.

If your daughter has to stand on tip-toes to look your 40lb border collie in the eyes, your daughter must be extremely short for her age, I reckon around 60cm tall. Her own weight for that size is probably only about 10 kg or 22lb.  A 260lb dog is almost certainly more than 10 times her weight.  It will seem to her like the world's largest lion or rhinoceros would seem to me or you. That might put things into perspective for you.

Moreover, as an adult I weigh circa 150 lb. This mastiff is 260lb. Even as an adult I'd be very nervous of a dog that is approaching twice my weight. And I like dogs.
